The student will be responsible for carrying out bench scale experiments for the treatment for industrial waste water (e.g. textile effluents) by using biological system combined with physical - chemical processes.

The trainee will participate in projects funded by FAPESP. The general theme of the projects is: The schiff bases and their complexes: syntheses, characterization and applications in catalysis. The characterization involves the use of such techniques as melting point, electronics spectra and hand 13c NMR. THe progress of the catalytic reaction will be monitored by gas chromatography and visible ultraviolet.

Will work with graduate student or postdoctoral ellow on a program involving molecular biology of lipid metabolism. Student would work on a project on transgenic mice or knockout mice, or on a project concerned with transcritional regulation of a gene in phospholipid biosynthesis.

The student will be involved in detection of developmentally specific proteins and glycoproteins of plant tissues grown in vitro (horseradish, sugarbeet, mammilaria gracilis.) Practical work will include preparation and purification of protein extracts, determination of protein concentration, SDS-electophoresis, electrobloting and detection of glycoproteins by application of different technic-assays.

Research work concerning Highway Engineering such as crash testing of lighting poles and guardrails, field and laboratory tests concerning asphalt

The trainee will have the opportunity:
- to overview and participate in several phases of the management and supervision of construction projects (including the monitoring of the preparation progress of tender documents for new projects, scheduling & monitoring time & planning and check costs of ongoing projects, the selection and organization of project progress reports etc.)
- To visit several civil work sites, mainly tunnel construction sites and get informed about the relevant applied construction methodologies under application.
- To understand the important role of the site supervision provided by Project Owner's engineers in accordance with the relevant contractual terms and the approved designs, including also the observance of time schedule, cost, quality requirements, health and safety conditions and finally the approved environmental terms.
- To be acquainted with the application of Management Information System (MIS) and other technical software (for example Primavera etc.) in the monitoring of time and cost planning and control of construction.

Student will be involved in research projects which are related to biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology and microbiology

To identify microorganism to produce fermentable sugars. Optimization of media components for production of enzyme responsible to produce fermentabel sugars. To identify the various fermentable sugars produced by HPLC.

The student will work at the Faculty's institutes, laboratories, solving engineering problems in the fields of agriculture and food technology.

The person will be very close at work with the CEO for the company's food and process engineering and suggest ways to improve them; Revision of warehouse and administrative process;

The student has a very important role in the factory
Works in the quality assurance and helps in developing new products:

During the internship, there is not a lot of project work, more daily business and a few projects which run for more time.
