The student will study the pysical properties of solids and their modifications during mass transfer processes as drying and adsorption. The properties to be studied are true and apparent densities, porosity, surface area, permeability among others. On the other hand, the solids to be studied are mixtures of inorganic solids and biological materials.

Biotechnology

Determination of phylosenetic relationships and genome organization in plants using molecular cytogenetic techniques. The investigations will be focused on evolution of 18S-26S and 5S vDNA, satellite DNA (satDNA) and dispersed DNA, their location on chromosomes using flourescent in situ Hybridisation

Hydraulic works design, computer programs preparation for hydraulic calculations.

The student will be assisting in research projects related to microbiology and food technology.

The trainee will be involved in the construction of the Soil Dam (height 180 meters) and power plant, in Gotvand in south west of Iran. The traineeship requires team work ability, and a specialization in Concrete Material and Software Knowledge.

The student may be working independently on a research project, as a member of a researcher team, or carrying out microbiological or chemical analysis in a routine laboratory. Work will be in the broad area of Food Science and will include seledtion of samples, sample an solution preparation, instrument calbiration, chemical and/or microbiological analysis and statistical handling and presentation of data using compter packages. The student will be expected to prepare a short report on his/her work.

Partcipation in current laboratory projects. Work depends on studentīs skills and interests.

The intern will learn several new techniques, inculding collection of soil and water samples from watersheds, analysing soil and water samples for various chemical concentrations, computer data analysis and report writing. The objective is to provide a good understanding and appreciation for soil and water quality problems and natural resources protection.

Practical training in biomedical research, molecular biology, endocrinology related to mammary gland development and breast cancer. Hands on laboratory experience at the bench and exposure to hypothesis-driven research.
